Getting Started

HostGuide lets you create digital house manuals for your short-term rental properties and share them with guests via a secure, time-limited link. No app download or account required for guests.

   Register an account

   Sign up with your email address. After confirming your email, you'll be taken directly to your dashboard.

   Create your first property

   Click "Create Property" and fill in the name, address, and an optional description. You can also set the property location on the map.

   Add guide items

   Document WiFi passwords, check-in instructions, appliance guides, and house rules — anything your guests need to know.

   Share with guests

   Create a guest link with a validity window matching the stay dates. Copy the link and send it to your guest. The link expires automatically after checkout.

Creating a Property

A property represents one of your rental homes. Each property has its own guide, photos, and guest links.

   Go to Properties

   Click "Properties" in the sidebar, then click "Create Property" in the top right.

   Fill in the details

   Enter the property name (required), address, and an optional description. The description is shown to guests on the guide page.

   Set the location on the map

   Search for the address using the search bar or click directly on the map to place the pin. The map is shown to guests on the guide.

   Upload photos

   Go to the "Photos" tab after saving. Upload images of the property — guests will see a photo gallery on their guide page.

   Set the content language

   In the "Settings" tab, select the language your guide content is written in. This helps guests who use translation tools.

Adding Guide Items

Guide items are the individual sections of your house manual — WiFi details, check-in codes, appliance instructions, house rules, and more.

   Open the Guide Items tab

   Open a property and click the "Guide Items" tab.

   Click Add Item

   Click "Add item" to open the form. Enter a title, select a type (WiFi, Appliance, Check-in, etc.), and write a description.

   Add photos or documents

   After saving the item, you can attach photos — for example, a photo of where the fuse box is or how to operate the washing machine.

   Reorder items

   Drag and drop guide items to change the order in which they appear on the guest guide.

Creating Guest Links

A guest link gives a specific guest access to the property guide for a set period. When the period ends, the link stops working automatically.

   Go to the Links tab

   Open the property and click the "Links" tab, or go to "Links" in the main navigation to see all links across all properties.

   Click Create Link

   Click "Create Link". Set a label (e.g., the guest's name or booking reference), a start date, and an end date.

   Copy and send the link

   After creating the link, copy it and send it to your guest — via Airbnb message, WhatsApp, or email.

   QR code

   Each link also has a QR code you can download and print for guests who prefer scanning.

Sharing with Guests

Guests receive a URL like https://hostguide.app/guest/abc123. Opening the link shows the full property guide — no app, no account required.
